Michael is a hard-working, technically versatile editor who has gained diverse experience in multiple disciplines including advertising, documentary and drama for both broadcast and non-broadcast platforms. Since starting in the industry he has built a reputation for his reliable, can-do attitude, as well as, possessing a keen eye for detail and creative flair.

In 2010 he was accepted into the Guild Of British Film And Television Editors and his current focus is set on editing long and short form film within the motion picture industry.

Michael started his editing career as a runner, then progressed to junior editor and became freelance in 2008 when he worked on a number of TV and cinema commercials. He has also edited for several award winning advertising agencies and their clients, some of who have included, Virgin Trains, Virgin Atlantic, MTV, Ikea, Nokia, Toyota, Honda, Red Bull, NHS, Premier Foods and Microsoft Windows.

In 2009, he co-edited a series of educational mini dramas for the BBC Learning Zone. This received a BAFTA nomination at the Children’s BAFTA awards later that year. Since then he has been pursuing his passion for narrative based film and has successfully edited a number of short films which are now entering the international festival circuit and are listed on IMDb.

Other film and video work includes a collaboration with fine artists The Boyle Family, for their exhibition of ‘Barra’ at The Scottish National Gallery in 2010, which can also be viewed here on the Tate Channel. His own experimental film projects have also been included in group shows at the ICA Gallery, The Serpentine Gallery, Tank TV, Clermont Ferrand short film market, The London Short Film Festival and other selected cinemas across Europe.

Michael holds a BA in Graphic Design and filmmaking from Central St Martins art college. At the age of five years old, he started musical training which has developed into a lifelong passion. He has enjoyed participating in live performances with various bands and composes and teaches music. Michael continues to combine his trained visual eye, strong sense of rhythm and musical ability with his natural love for cinematic story-telling, making him the perfect all round film editor.

He continues to look for new and exciting opportunities as an editor in the motion picture industry.
